The tithe is the tenth of all the increase that GOD gives to you. Tithing is a way of honoring GOD with our substance and as a means of serving Him in the preaching of the Gospel, the care of the Church and helping the needy. The tithe is given out of pure faith and obedience to GOD.

To “tithe” (meaning in both Hebrew and Greek “to give or take the tenth of”) means to give a tenth of “all the increase” (Deuteronomy 14:22) derived from one’s produce, property, or income, for the support of “kingdom building” through the church. The motivation to tithe is a worshipful recognition of GOD as the Creator and Possessor of the earth and everything in it, including us. Giving is a fundamental principle that is taught in the “Word” of GOD. The church and all its ministries are funded by the faith and obedience of the believer in the area of giving tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:10, “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat in my house”). We do not give in order to receive anything back from GOD; we give out of shear faith and obedience.

(Malachi 3:8-10) Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How do we rob you?’ “In your giving (tithes and offerings), you are under a curse-the whole nation of you-because you are robbing me (When we do not line up in the giving of our tithe and offerings, the bible teaches we are cursed with a curse). Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, “says the Lord Almighty. When we are faithful and obedient in our tithe and offerings, GOD releases HIS seven “I Will” promises according to Malachi 3rd Chapter verses 10-12;17:

  • I will open up the windows of Heaven (1) I will give you open access to all I own.
  • I will pour you out blessings you will not have room enough to receive (2) I will create overflow in your life.
  • I will rebuke the devour and he will not destroy the fruit of your vine (3) I will cancel out Satan’s attack on your prosperity allowing release on your increase.
  • Neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field (4) I will create perfect timing in your prosperity.
  • All nations will call you blessed (5) I will make your blessings obvious to all, not just believers.
  • You will be a delightsome land (6) I will make others desire to be like you based on how blessed you are (Delightsome/Chephets-[Hebrew] desire, longing)
  • I will spare them like a father spares a son that serves him (7) I will spoil you like a father spoils a son that serves him (Spare/Chamal-[Hebrew]deep compassion)

The bible speaks of two ways we rob GOD, as it relates to our giving, in our tithe and offering. GOD requires us to be faithful in giving a liberal and freewill offering. The offering is above and beyond your tithe. It is a giving principle that is based on the individual’s giving spirit. The bible informs us in Luke 6:38 to be givers. “Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” GOD expects us to glorify HIM and keep HIS covenant as we financially support HIS kingdom. Becoming a distribution center for “kingdom building” should be our ultimate goal. GOD expects us to glorify HIM and keep HIS covenant as we financially support HIS kingdom. I believe and teach every time we assemble in corporate worship each individual should purpose in their heart to give, and present a financial offering to GOD.

Sacrificial Offering

GOD requires us to give of our tithe and regular offerings. Sacrificial giving is an offering given beyond your tithe and normal Sunday, Wednesday Night Live and other regular offering you present during corporate worship. Sacrificial giving is a great opportunity to release your faith and watch the power of GOD as it operates on an unusual level. As you seek GOD’s face, in every sacrificial giving opportunity, you are stepping out on faith knowing wherever GOD guides GOD will provide. In addition, the bible informs us when giving give as he or she has purposed in their heart, so give not grudgingly, or of necessity: for GOD loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7). Cheerful is an important ingredient in giving, especially when it comes to sowing financial “sacrificial seeds.” Cheerful giving unlocks the abundant blessings GOD has laid up for us. When we sow sparingly we reap sparingly; when we give bountifully we reap bountifully (2 Cor. 9:6-11). During the year we have 2 great opportunities to give sacrificially (Miracle March First Fruit Offering and in October for Harvest Sunday).

Please join me in being a faithful and obedient giver which is the foundation of giving tithes and offerings. We give based on our faith and obedience to GOD our creator. GOD promises HE will pour out even more abundant grace into our lives to the degree that we commit to HIM. This certainly does not mean GOD pays us back. Giving builds our relationship with GOD it builds hope, trust, belief, and commitment to HIM. The real gain is a closer walk with Jesus Christ. “Make the commitment and sacrifice today!”
